Framekeep: privacy
Last updated 7 October 2026
Framekeep takes a photo at regular intervals, for minutes or hours, and assembles them into a time-lapse video. It is a small Android app I build on my own
(com.growingpeas.timelapse on Google Play). This page says what it keeps, what leaves
your phone, and why it asks for each permission. The controller is Lawrenza SRL,
trading as Growing Peas; full details are on the legal notice.
What leaves your phone
- Nothing you shoot. Photos and videos are never uploaded. The app never records sound.
- Purchases. The Pro upgrade is a one-time purchase handled by Google Play. Google processes the payment under its own privacy policy; I receive no card details, only the order record Google shares with every developer (order number, product, price and country).
There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no server of mine. The app contains no third-party tracking code.
What stays on your phone
- The frames of each session, in the app's private storage, until you delete the session.
- Finished videos, saved to your phone's Movies/Timelapse folder, where your gallery can see them.
Android backup is switched off for this app: its data is not copied to your Google account, so uninstalling the app deletes it for good.
Permissions
- Camera: to take the photos.
- Notifications and foreground service: a capture runs with the screen off for hours; Android requires a visible notification for that, and it is how you stop the capture.
- Internet: used only by Google Play for the purchase.
The app never asks for your location, your contacts or your files.
Deleting your data
Everything is on your phone, so you delete it there: in the app, or with Settings, Apps, Framekeep, Storage, Clear storage, or by uninstalling. I hold no copy to delete. Files you exported or shared stay where you put them.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13.
