Dewline: privacy

Last updated 7 October 2026

Dewline reads the broadcasts of Bluetooth temperature and humidity sensors and keeps their history. It is a small Android app I build on my own (com.growingpeas.sensors on Google Play). This page says what it keeps, what leaves your phone, and why it asks for each permission. The controller is Lawrenza SRL, trading as Growing Peas; full details are on the legal notice.

What leaves your phone

There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no server of mine. The app contains no third-party tracking code.

What stays on your phone

Android backup is on. If you have backup enabled on your phone, Android copies the app's data to your own Google account, as it does for most apps, and restores it on a new phone. That copy is held by Google for you; I have no access to it. You can turn it off in Settings, System, Backup.

Permissions

The app never asks for your location, your contacts or your files.

Limits of use

Dewline is a monitoring aid. Bluetooth reception can drop, and a phone can be asleep, out of range or out of battery. Do not rely on it alone to protect anything that would suffer from a missed alarm (people, animals, medicine, food).

Deleting your data

Everything is on your phone, so you delete it there: in the app, or with Settings, Apps, Dewline, Storage, Clear storage, or by uninstalling. I hold no copy to delete. Files you exported or shared stay where you put them.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13.
